A dinghy racing program is run from the Boat Shed of the Cairns Yacht Club on Saturday afternoons, as per Sailing Schedule, for club members. The program includes Team Racing, an Autumn, Winter and Spring series held on an Olympic Course at the mouth of Trinity Inlet, Passage Races - Admiral of Admirality Island and Novelty race days. Club boats such as Pacers, Lasers with Radial or 4.7 rigs and Open Bic are available to members with sailing experience to partake in the dinghy racing program.

Beginners are encouraged to participate as crew to gain sailing and racing experience in the club's Pacers.

Rigging and registration for boats and crew begins at 12.30pm.

Racing starts at 14.00 (2 pm) with 2 or 3 races finishing around 16.00 (4 pm).

Social BBQ is enjoyed at the Boat Shed once the boats are derigged and stowed.

Cost:- $5.00 per member and $15.00 for non members.
